LiGO makes a big splash

3 June 2013

Worthing Leisure’s brand new leisure centre and pool complex “Splashpoint” is the latest to install the LiGO lighting control system.

The new pool complex offers separate competition pools for diving and swimming, children’s shallow pools, a flume, a partially sunken pirate ship, spurting water features, steam and sauna rooms, a health and fitness centre, café, crèche and flexible space for other activities.

The design maximises the potential of the site with ‘ribbons’ of accommodation flowing from north to south to emphasise the connection between land and sea. Each pool form has its own terrace, opening up the façade to animate the beachfront elevation and enlivening this prominent location in line with the Council’s aspirations for an Active Beach Zone.

A single LiGO controller is installed to control the lighting and it connects to the Council’s Trend Building Management System. At a cost of just over £7000 the LiGO ensures the lighting in Splashpoint creates the right ambience whist keeping the electricity bills down.
