A Case Study
Savings arrive on time at Woking Station
April 1, 2011
The Challenge:
The brief was to offer the most cost effective solution to provide safe and energy efficient lighting control across the station’s five platforms and staff areas.
The Solution
- An easy system to follow and installed at least cost.
- LiGO enables lights on different networks to be placed in virtual groups to follow the station layout.
- Each platform’s lights are switched under a dimming operation to ensure station lights are not overlit, hence saving energy and preventing light pollution.
- Emergency light testing is automatically done and logged by LiGO which can be downloaded to make paper copies if required.
- A LiGO View panel was installed that is capable of looking across the whole system for light fitting faults and for making adjustments.
- 3G modem and laptop means that the South West Trains maintenance team can remotely access the system.
Results
LiGO’s success has meant that it is now installed at Haslemere, New Milton and Hounslow. Projects in hand include Winchester, Portsmouth & Southsea, Twickenham and Putney Stations.
